    Since posting about some of the Mothers' Union responses to Covid, two things have happened. 1. All Ireland MU President June Butler kindly sent me a lovely MU pattern book with lots of ideas for sending love, comfort and support to those who really need it. The Church of Ireland is part of the worldwide Anglican Communion which has 70 million members in countries. The Diocesan President of Mothers’ Union, Mary Good, has invited people in the Diocese of Derry and Raphoe to support next weekend’s All–Ireland Prayer Vigil in Londonderry against gender–based violence.

With around 7, members in all 12 dioceses, Mothers’ Union in Ireland works to support families in many practical ways. The Most Revd Richard Clarke, Archbishop of Armagh, invited Mothers’ Union in Ireland to challenge ‘the scourge’ of domestic violence and it is a commission the organisation has accepted.

Republic of Ireland: Mothers’ Union in Ireland is recognised as a Charity by the Revenue commissioners, Registered charity number- (Charities Regulatory Authority).

Northern Ireland: Not registered with The Charity Commission NI as a single entity. Prayer Book is a brand new Mothers’ Union prayer book.

Mothers' Union members have lovingly produced a collection of face coverings in an array of patterns and colours. £4 from every covering will go to the area involved in production. £1 goes to Mothers’ Union central charity to cover postal and packaging costs.
